Rating Appeal Success at Valuation Tribunal
Acting on behalf of Toys R Us, the UK’s largest toy store, Ashwell Rogers successfully presented an appeal at Valuation Tribunal against the 2010 Rateable Value on a large purpose built shop of c. 46,500 sq ft in Woking town centre. Following an inspection of the subject property, the Tribunal agreed with Ashwell Rogers that the basis adopted by the Valuation Officer was too high and awarded a 12% RV reduction, saving the occupier in excess of £120,000 in rates.
