Ashwell Rogers publishes its RSA Report on Royal Tunbridge Wells

After extensive research into rental levels, on 24th May 2012 Ashwell Rogers published its RSA Town Committee Report for Royal Tunbridge Wells. This report deals with the levels of the 2010 Rating List assessments on all shops within the town centre area of Tunbridge Wells and sets out recommendations where the basis adopted by the Valuation Officer could be challenged.  The survey covered the Royal Victoria Shopping Centre and also the pedestrianised section of Calverley Road. Some areas in the vicinity of the shopping centre were also included such as Mount Pleasant and Grosvenor Road.

Royal Victoria Place was opened on 21st October 1992 by Diana, Princess of Wales. The centre took a total of 36 Months to build overcoming some difficulties on the way in trying to incorporate a centre within the infrastructure of the current town. This included part of Calverley Road being pedestrianised and the relocation on the Calvary Church with the previous the previous building being incorporated into the new shopping centre.  The centre is anchored by a 3 floor Fenwick's department store and is also home to some other major shops including Boots, Marks and Spencer and Topshop.
